A Letter to Fathers 2014

From The Desk of the Overseer

A Letter to Fathers

Wow! Father’s Day is once again upon us. Where did the time go? It seems like it was yesterday we were celebrating Father’s Day. I want to take the time to celebrate FATHERS everywhere. Is it just me, but I am struggling with the reality that it is hard to find good fathers today? I hear so many stories from so many young people about how their dad was not there for them. How their dad walked out on them. So, to all the FATHER’S that stuck around, supported their families, that was there when their children needed them and gave all the love that they had to their families, HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! Here is what I want to say to you all today when I think of a Father:

F is never FORSAKING to stand tall in the face of adversity

A is for all the AFFECTION you have given your family

T is for TEACHING your family the ropes so they too will one teach others how to hold on

H is for HELPING your children do their homework

E is for ENCOURAGING your family for BE all that God would have them to be

R is for REMEMBERING to be human, but even in all the limitations of being

human, your remain to be a very special person to your family.

Thank you FATHERS!

Grace & Peace
